Detoxification – Vital for Optimal Health

Everyday we are exposed to an abundance of toxins. The body has the innate ability to detoxify, however, it struggles to keep up the demands of detoxification due to the multitude of toxins encountered on a daily basis. Among these toxins are daily consumption of processed foods, fast foods, medications, cleaning products, solvents, many environmental toxins and much more! With so many toxins in the body, they deplete the critical and necessary nutrients required to detoxify properly.

How does a toxic burden contribute to ailments in the body?

Cancer
Digestive issues such as gas, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, heartburn
Allergies, psoriasis, eczema
Arthritis, chronic pain, joint pain
Weight Gain
Autoimmune diseases such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia.
Impaired immune system
Headaches and fatigue
Impaired memory and concentration
PMS/Hormonal imbalance
Anxiety and stress

Many ailments require more support than just detoxification, but detoxification is a superb way to begin the healing process at the cellular level to optimal health.

Where do toxins come from? Here are just a few sources…..

THE ENVIRONMENT

Over 6 trillion pounds of chemicals are dumped in one year! We are exposed to these chemicals daily through the air we breathe, the water we drink and even the food we eat!

Chemicals in water supplies: chlorine, fluoride, heavy metals, parasites and other contaminants.
Chemicals dumped into sewage….
Air emissions, carbon monoxide, cigarette smoke….
Household cleaners, paints, solvents, dry cleaning….
Heavy metals:

Aluminum – antiperspirant deodorants, cookware, foil, cosmetics, lotions,

baking powder, soaps….

Mercury – dental amalgams, fish (albacore tuna highest content), cosmetics…..

(Mercury is the 2nd most toxic metal in the world after Uranium.)

FOOD SUPPLY

Pesticides, chemical fertilizers and herbicides used in growing the food supply…

(Did you know that pesticides banned years ago are still found in the soil today?)

Food additives in processed foods…artificial colors and preservatives….

(These chemicals are foreign to the body. Yellow dye alone is a huge contributor to

aggravating asthma and allergies. Average consumption of additives is 190lbs a year!)

Artificial Sweeteners – aspartame, saccharin, sucralose…..
Animals in the meat supply treated with antibiotics and hormones…..their feed treated with pesticides…..
Medications and alcohol…..

EMOTIONS & LIFESTYLE

Negative emotions/attitudes….create stored toxins in the body
Stress…cause of depletion of vital nutrients for detoxification

Never before has the population been subjected to so many toxins and stress producing lifestyles as we are today! Realistically we cannot avoid toxins, but we can lessen the toxic load placed on our bodies by building them up, enabling them to combat and manage the toxic burden we face each day.

THE DETOXIFICATION PROCESS

Toxins are stored in the fat cells and at higher levels of toxicity they are stored in the connective tissues and joints. The organs involved in detoxification are the kidneys, lungs, lymph, skin, blood thyroid, colon and liver. The liver is the main organ to detoxify. Consider it like the oil filter in your car. You know what happens to the parts in our car if we do not change the oil regularly…..the parts start to break down and eventually fail. An overburdened liver can not function properly and other organs will suffer the consequences.

The body requires a Phase I and Phase II Detoxification Process. The entire body is involved, not just the colon or liver.

Phase I – activates the toxin making it water soluble for excretion
Phase II – delivers toxins out of the body

It is essential that any detoxification program you embark upon has all the ingredients for both phases of detoxification.

There are many detoxification products available on the market, but after extensive research and my own personal use, I recommend a detoxification program from Standard Process www.standardprocess.com  or Designs for Health www.designsforhealth.com

The kit will include all products necessary for Phase I and Phase II detoxification. The program consists of consuming shakes and eating fruits and vegetable for day 1-10 and adding protein on day 11-21. The average weight loss for women is 13lbs and for men is 15lbs. To receive the program, email rhonda@healthysolutionstoday.com  Since this is a professional detoxification program, it is vital you are under the care of a healthcare professional. I will be available via phone or email for you during your 21-day cleanse.
